SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was arrested Monday after police say she arranged to meet a man at random for sex who was then shot and robbed by others who also showed up.

Sierra Rowena Leona Hardy, 22, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Monday and charged in 3rd District Court on Wednesday with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. Charging documents also list as co-defendants the two men who allegedly helped Hardy, Roberto Duran Moreno and Armando Miles Moreland, both 19.

On Tuesday, Duran was arrested for investigation of aggravated robbery.

On Jan. 29, police say Hardy sent text messages to the victim "to meet up with the victim for an arranged sex deal." But when the 44-year-old man arrived, he saw Hardy was with three other men and canceled the meeting after getting nervous, according to a police booking affidavit.

Hardy then arranged to meet the man again later that same night about 6:40 p.m. near 1400 South and 1200 West. But when the man met with the woman, a car pulled up with the same three men inside, according to police.

"Two of the males got out of the vehicle wearing masks and demanded the victim hand over his money, and (the) victim said 'no' and started to walk away. The victim was then shot multiple times by one of the males. The males went through his pockets stealing his wallet and his phone," according to the affidavit.

The man was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, according to police.

On Monday, police were able to identify and track down Hardy and arrest her.

Tuesday, detectives found Duran and questioned him. He claimed he was asked by one of the other men involved to help rob the victim after the woman arranged to meet up with him. The plan was "they were going to steal money from the victim at gunpoint," another police affidavit states.

Duran claimed he was holding a gun during the confrontation. But when the victim started to walk away, he said the other man "took the firearm from (Duran) and shot the victim, firing the firearm three times," according to the arrest report.

Duran was also arrested last month by Salt Lake police at Liberty Park. An undercover officer had arranged to buy a gun and THC cartridges from him and a second man, believed to be Moreland. Police said the men planned on robbing the buyer and arrested Duran after he arrived at the park. Moreland was charged in February in connection with that case with robbery and possession of a weapon by a restricted person, second-degree felonies; drug possession with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony; and failing to stop at the command of law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
