SYRACUSE — A boy was transported to a hospital in stable condition after being shot in the leg overnight.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 1175 S. 1950 West in Syracuse where police say a party was being held. When officers arrived, they located the boy with a gunshot wound and transported him to the hospital.

A press release from the Syracuse Police Department says the initial investigation indicates a fight between several boys resulted in multiple shots being fired. Many of the boys involved fled following the gunfire.

The incident is still under investigation, police say. The time of the incident, ages or identities of those involved, were not released.
