SILVER FORK — A two-story cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon was destroyed by a fire Monday.

Unified Fire Capt. Tony Barker with the Unified Fire Authority said that the cause of the fire is still under investigation but the cabin is "a total loss."

While there were no injuries, Barker said no one was present in the cabin when the fire started.

"By the time I got there, it was just a burning pile of rubble, but bystanders said it was a newer construction, newer-ish cabin," Barker said. "This was a newer cabin so I am curious to hear what the cause was."

This story will be updated.
