GOOGLING — A popular response has emerged in 25 years in moments of curiosity: "Google it."
The search engine has reigned supreme, beating out competitors such as Yahoo and Bing, ingraining itself into modern society. From its conception, humanity has searched everything from the most burning questions to driving directions. In those 25 years, trends have emerged and marked moments worldwide.
Google has collected the most-searched figures and moments in 25 years of Google Search to celebrate. In this video, you can see some of the most "iconic performances, to history-making breakthroughs" and "the moments that have changed the world and inspired the next generation to come," wrote the platform.
The video includes the most-searched "first step," cast, toy, breakthrough and decade. It is remarkable to see the strings that connect humanity worldwide, from historic tragedies such as 9/11 and the COVID-19 pandemic to favorite cartoons.
