Tyler Kolek of Marquette is The Associated Press national player of the week in men's basketball. He had 28 points and eight rebounds in an 86-65 win over No. 12 Texas, then scored 17 points with seven rebounds in a win over Notre Dame. Zach Edey of Purdue, the reigning AP national player of the year, was the runner-up. Blake Hinson of Pittsburgh is worth keeping an eye on after he had a career-best 29 points with seven rebounds while setting a school record with nine 3-pointers in an 80-63 win over West Virginia.
