PARIS, Idaho — A two-vehicle crash involving Utah drivers killed one and injured two in Bear Lake County in Idaho Sunday.
Idaho State Police said just before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, a Hyundai heading north on U.S. 89 was preparing to merge onto state Route 36 when it crossed the center line and collided with a Cadillac.
Police said the Cadillac's driver, a 54-year-old man, of Ogden, was not wearing a seat belt during the crash. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
The two passengers of the Cadillac were transported by ambulance to a hospital. Police did not specify their conditions.
The 21-year-old female driver of the Hyundai was not injured. She is also from Ogden.
Idaho State Police said the junction of the highways was shut down for three hours on Sunday while emergency crews responded to the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
