SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 7 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Sports' Game of the Week: Roy at Woods Cross
Why did we choose this game?
With four weeks left in the regular season, Box Elder is the favorite to come out of Region 5 with the title. The Bees are undefeated on the season and have a 3-0 record in region play, including a much-needed win over Roy for a potential tiebreaker.
But Roy, who sits in a four-way tie at second place with Woods Cross (and Bonneville and Bountiful), isn't done fighting just yet. Roy travels to Woods Cross this week to help clear the logjam of a crowded Region 5, with hopes that Box Elder slips along the way.
Roy and Woods Cross share the same record and are evenly-matched on paper. The Royals have scored, on average, 33.8 points per game, while holding opponents to 20.7 points per game. The Wildcats have scored slightly more at 39.8 points per game, but hold opponents to a relatively equal 20.8 points per game.
With two evenly-matched defenses, does Woods Cross' slight advantage on offense give the home team the upper hand? Or does Roy have enough in them to leave Woods Cross with the road win? Should make for a fun game, right?
