PRICE — Two people were arrested Friday after police say they broke into a Price home and told the occupant at gunpoint that she had to leave.
Shanna Davis, 42, and Cameron Steven Rhinehart, 18, were booked into the Carbon County Jail for investigation of aggravated burglary.
The chaotic situation started just after 1 a.m. when a woman called 911 "and advised a crazy lady came into the house with a gun saying the victim had to leave. The victim continued to report the female was in the kitchen throwing a fit," according to a police booking affidavit.
The woman, who had locked herself in a bedroom, then told emergency dispatchers that "there was someone else at the back door with a gun and a third person in the living room," the affidavit states. "The victim then advised the male had the gun, a long gun, possibly a rifle. The victim then advised dispatch the female was yelling (and) saying the victim has to get out or she was going to shoot her. The victim advised she did not know why they were there."
Carbon County sheriff's deputies and officers from the Price and Wellington police departments responded to the scene.
When they arrived, they spotted Rhinehart walking outside the home and took him into custody at gunpoint.
"While I was taking Cameron into custody I asked what he was doing at the residence. Cameron advised he had gotten a call there was an intruder at the residence," the arresting deputy wrote in the affidavit.
Davis and another female then exited the home and were also taken into custody.
As police were clearing the home, they discovered "the basement door had a sledgehammer placed next to the door and the frame of the door had been broken and left open," according to the affidavit.
Davis claimed that "the owner of the residence was going to meet them at the residence to evict the victim." But when deputies called the owner, she said she was in Salt Lake City and had never arranged to meet Davis, the arrest report says.
When detectives talked to the victim — who had been living in the residence for a little over a week — she said she was awakened by Davis pounding on her bedroom door, and when she came out there were three people in the living room.
"The victim stated there was a male, Cameron, kneeling in the front living room with a black rifle. The victim then went back into her room and Shanna yelled that they could shoot through the door," the affidavit states.
Davis and Rhinehart were both arrested. Information about the third person in the home was not immediately available.
