ST. GEORGE — What was once a "closed veil" society has erupted in recent years and continues to expand as more economic opportunities unveil within the communities of Short Creek on the Utah-Arizona border.

Hildale Mayor Donia Jessop said that the people's message for this year is one of hope.

"We've learned from where we've been — love where we are and look forward to where we're going," she said. "We all will do great things together."

The latest unveiling of continued growth of the area was a recent groundbreaking ceremony for Creek Valley Dental Clinic, construction beginning for Mountain America Credit Union and Bee's marketplace celebrating a 10-year anniversary.
