SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah man was arrested Tuesday after police say he has stolen perfume from a store at the Salt Lake City International Airport three times in the past six weeks.

The 30-year-old was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of three counts of retail theft, and drug possession.

On Feb. 15, March 14 and again on Tuesday, the man entered Salt Lake City Dufry Shopping and put a total of 27 bottles of perfume in his backpack and a pair of Gucci sunglasses totaling approximately $4,100, according to a police booking affidavit.

The man was about to board a flight to Arizona on Tuesday when he was arrested by Salt Lake police working at the airport. In his backpack, officers also found a bottle containing about 90 oxycodone pills, the affidavit states.

"He has flown across state lines on at least three occasions and committed retail theft at least three times in the last approximately six weeks while also having multiple warrants out for his arrest for retail theft and other crimes," according to the affidavit.

Police say they received information that the man would be traveling through the airport on Tuesday and developed a plan to take him into custody.
