AROUND THE WORLD — Imagine that you're on a dream trip to Thailand. You've been spending your days exploring ancient cities, sailing to beautiful islands and savoring the local cuisine.
You check into your hotel in the city of Chumphon. This is supposed to be the highlight of your vacation, since the area is famous for its beaches. But what if, when you set your snorkel gear down, it began moving across the floor in a serpentine pattern?
What if your gear was being carried by ants that have apparently established a highway in your room?
Check out this bizarre video.
I have no problem with the occasional bug in my hotel rooms. But I'd struggle with such a major population of ants.
By the way, the video caption suggests these bugs are actually termites. They look like ants to me. If there are any entomologists reading this, please feel free to settle the debate in the comments section.
