ALASKA — Who among us doesn't hate shoveling snow? Even if you have a high-end snowblower, it can still be a miserable experience to clear your driveway during a winter storm.

That is what makes this video so illuminating. We've been toiling away for years with shovels and snowblowers when all we needed was a helicopter. Check it out:

OK, I realize there are some things that make this scene unique. First of all, they're trying to remove snow from a dome rather than a driveway. Second, it's in Alaska, which gets a tad bit more snow than where many of us live.

But a guy can still dream, right?

According to the video's description, this snow-clearing took place in Anchorage last month. And the presence of the helicopter may have actually prevented a disaster.

"After forty-one inches of snow in the last five days, the building must clear the snow off the roof," explains the caption. "Since the Golf Dome is an inflatable building, they hired a helicopter to remove the snow to ensure the building does not collapse."

Speaking of domes, maybe that's the true answer to the snowy driveway dilemma. If we all installed giant domes over our homes, our driveways would remain clear throughout the winter. I'm sure there could be some disadvantages to covering your home with a dome, but I'm willing to address these issues as they arise. This idea seems too good to fail.
