SALT LAKE CITY — A predicted snowstorm has turned roads icy along the Wasatch Front and delayed the start of school in several districts Friday morning.
The Canyons School District, Summit Academy schools and Hawthorne Academy moved to a remote learning day due to dangerous road conditions. Extracurricular activities are also canceled unless road conditions improve.

School will start two hours late in the following districts and schools:
- Alpine
- Cache County
- Davis
- Granite
- Juan Diego Catholic High School
- Monticello Academy
- Murray
- Provo
- Salt Lake City
- Weber
Lakeview Academy is on a one-hour delay.
Classes will be held as usual in the Tooele and Jordan school districts.
Slick roads led to several crashes early Friday and the Utah Department of Transportation urged motorists to delay travel if possible.

Snow should taper off around 8 or 9 a.m. and a winter storm warning is in effect for much of Utah until 3 p.m.
Snow is just coming to an end in the next hour or so for Wasatch Front, but roads remain slick. Delay your morning commute if possible, and plan ahead if you must head out.
