SALT LAKE CITY — A Rose Park neighborhood is on high alert after a neighbor caught a man creeping around his home while exposing his lower body.

It happened at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. The man, who did not want to go on camera for safety reasons, said later that morning, he noticed he had missed someone at his door in the overnight hours. When he checked his cameras, he couldn't believe what he saw.

"My heart dropped," he said. "When he walks away, you can see him, like, looking in my bedroom window."

Those who live in the area were outraged by the video.

"I'm just disturbed," said Andrew Jacobsen, who lives across the street. "I've been in this community 15 years. I'm concerned about the safety and the well-being of the families. My family that has lived in this neighborhood a good, long time."

The prowler's face is clear in the video, but neighbors who talked to KSL-TV didn't know him.

"We'll definitely keep an eye out, and if it becomes more of a concern, we'll definitely take more precautions," Lizzie Carroll said.

Caroll and her husband just moved to the neighborhood two weeks ago. She said she's glad she has a large dog that barks at anything out of the ordinary.

The homeowner who discovered the disturbing video is hopeful police will find out who the man is so it doesn't happen again.

"I kind of lost sleep the last two nights because I'm like, 'Is he gonna come back?'"

Salt Lake City police say they are aware of the case and are investigating.
