WASHINGTON STATE — Just as people who live in big cities sometimes shake their heads and say that they've "seen it all," I assumed that animals in big forests have probably encountered just about everything there is to see.
Which is why this little video made me laugh.
It almost seems like this raccoon was raised in the suburbs and is venturing out into the woods for the first time.
"There's an old elk skull near our backyard," explains the caption. "Many animals come by and check it out. Unfortunately, when this raccoon saw it for the first time, it clearly scared the crap out of her!"
But maybe there's more to this story than just a jumpy raccoon who is spooked by the sight of a moss-covered skull. It seems that this poor little raccoon definitely has a phobia, a fear of deer or elk.
