THE FROZEN LAKE – While there is a staggering array of strategies, gear and nuances involved with fishing, the core function is simple: hook a fish and pull it from the water.

This process has been followed for centuries. The exact details might change depending on the decade or the location; you can typically know what to expect when someone dips a line into the water.

And that's a good thing. In our chaotic world of changing technology and volatile events, it's nice to have something you can hang your fishing hat on.

So what happens when this sacred order is reversed? See for yourself in the video below:

In the headline, I referred to this video as "reverse ice fishing." The idea was that instead of pulling a fish out of the water, it involves a fish putting itself into the water.

But now that I think about it, this isn't truly reverse fishing. Because wouldn't that be fish putting people in water? Seems like it. Regardless, it's kind of fun to see a fish flip the script and get away like that.
