A BIRTHDAY PARTY — I would imagine a lot of people have learned taking a bite into a cupcake is not a good idea. My mouth is just not tall enough to avoid making a significant mess, at least when there is enough fluffy frosting on the cupcake.
My remedy for this has always been to eat the bottom of the cupcake first, saving the top and the frosting for the final few bites.
I'm now curious about whether another method I found in this video featuring Anne Hathaway may change my cupcake eating process, helping spread the frosting into each bite of cupcake equally.
In a clip from the Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson asks Hathaway to show the audience how she eats a cupcake — a conversation apparently prompted after Hathaway had recently gone to a friend's birthday party and learned her method was unique when she "stopped the party."
In the video, Hathaway eats her cupcake by breaking the top half off and flipping the frosting side down onto the bottom half of the cupcake, making a sandwich that looks a lot less messy than any other method I've encountered. It seems likely this method was learned while Hathaway, acting as Mia, was taking lessons preparing to be Princess of Genovia in "The Princess Diaries."
My primary hesitation with this method is destroying the beautiful frosting a bit earlier than necessary. It seems almost like biting off the ears of the chocolate bunny first.
