IRON COUNTY — A 68-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Iron County on Thursday morning, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The man was traveling eastbound on state Route 20 on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at around 11:25 a.m. on Thursday.
The driver was going too fast and was unable to navigate a lefthand turn, UHP said in a news release. His motorcycle drifted off the road to the right and struck a rock. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and hit some rocks by the side of the road.
He died at the scene from his injuries, troopers said.
There were lane closures in place for about 3½ hours during the investigation, according to the release.
