MOM'S SPOTLIGHT — It's obvious mothers play an integral part of a young football player's life. Yet, most of that work is done in the background.

But not so much in Peoria, Illinois.

Earlier this month, the moms of the Washington High football team got to throw on some pads and tackle their sons. And they proved they were strong hitters, as shown here via a local news report.

The unique drill was part of Washington's annual "Mom's Night," designed to get football players' mothers more acquainted with the game. According to a local Illinois reporter, the moms learn about equipment, rules, plays, etc. — and apparently proper tackling form, too.

The kids may have picked up on some things, too — like how their mom may just be able to physically match them if they so choose.
