Police identify man killed in moped crash in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified a man killed Thursday when he crashed on a moped.

Joseph Filippi, 65, was driving the moped on the sidewalk and turned onto 400 South, where he collided with a car at the intersection with 600 East.

Filippi died of his injuries at the scene of the crash. Salt Lake police say they do not know which city he lived in.

The driver of the car was not injured and stayed on the scene, police said.
