WEST VALLEY CITY — Foo Fighters announced Tuesday afternoon that it has canceled all of its upcoming shows, including one scheduled for Aug. 8 at the USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City. The news comes just days after the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins on March 25.
"It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirms the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins," the band tweeted.

Hawkins, 50, was the drummer for Foo Fighters, alongside best friend and frontman Dave Grohl, for 25 years. The band was on tour in South America when Hawkins died at a hospital in Bogota, Columbia, from what officials are calling sudden cardiac arrest caused by an overdose of heroin, antidepressants and benzodiazepines.
Foo Fighters expressed sadness for the cancellation, calling for time to grieve the loss of Hawkins.
"We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned," the statement continues. "Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together."
