TAYLORSVILLE — A woman was hospitalized in critical condition early Thursday after being hit by a vehicle in Taylorsville, police said.

The woman, 58, was hit on 5400 South between Constitution and Redwood Road, said Taylorsville Police Sgt. Jeff Smith.

The woman is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The driver and a witness remained on scene to speak to police, Smith said.

Eastbound 5400 South was closed in the area for the crash investigation.
