HURRICANE — Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run on Saturday that injured two 15-year-old girls.

Hurricane police responded to the scene at 1150 W. State Street around 10:02 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release. Two 15-year-old girls were transported to the hospital after a small car ran a red light and hit them in the crosswalk.

Police said witnesses described the car as being either silver or gold, possibly a Toyota, and that the car also may have had South Dakota plates.

Hurricane police are asking anyone who may have seen the incident or have information to call 435-627-4999.

Further information, including the extent of the girls' injuries, was not released.
