Power restored to almost 10,500 customers without power in Ogden area

Rocky Mountain Power is warning business customers to be on the lookout for scammers.

OGDEN — Almost 10,500 Rocky Mountain Power customers lost power in Ogden, South Ogden, Uintah and surrounding areas Friday evening.

The company said around 9:15 p.m. that over 10,000 customers were without power, but by 10:15 p.m. power had been restored to some customers.

Power was completely restored at 10:30 p.m. for all customers.

Rocky Mountain Power officials said the cause of the outage is under investigation.

"Our crews are working to restore services as quickly and safely as possible and estimate power to be restored by 2:00 a.m.," the utility company said in a Facebook post.
