RIVERDALE, Weber County — Formal charges were filed Tuesday against the third person allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a man during a Christmas Day home invasion in Riverdale that also critically injured a woman.
Liam Hughes Tonneson Gale, 31, of Roy, was already listed as a co-defendant in the charging documents of the other two people charged. Tuesday, he was charged in 2nd District Court with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and obstructing justice, all first-degree felonies; and two counts of possession of a firearm by a restricted person, both second-degree felonies.
He joins Brittany Ann Rogers, 31, of Clearfield, and Rayburn Jimmy Bennett, 16, of West Valley City, who were each charged with murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and obstructing justice, all first-degree felonies.
Gale had been on the run since Dec. 25 when he and the others went to a mobile home park at 5100 S. 1050 West with the intent of committing a robbery, acceding to charging documents. They forcefully entered a residence about 3:20 a.m. and fatally shot Trevor Anthony Martin, 36, and critically wounded a 42-year-old woman, the charges state.
The woman was shot in the lower jaw and was taken to a local hospital "where she is receiving extensive treatment and surgery," according to charging documents.
Gale was arrested at an apartment in West Haven, Weber County, on Monday.
