SALT LAKE CITY — The manager of a restaurant faces multiple felonies accusing him of having an illegal sexual relationship with a 17-year-old employee, according to police.

Brett Christensen, 41, of South Jordan, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with two counts of forcible sodomy and object rape, both first-degree felonies; seven counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and lewdness, class B misdemeanors.

Christensen, who is listed in court documents as a manager of a Red Robin restaurant, became friends with one of his employees and they allegedly began texting each other after work when she was 16. The text messages became sexually graphic and when the girl turned 17, Christensen sent her a message stating he wanted to have sex with her when she turned 18, according to charging documents.

On July 31, Aug. 2 and Aug. 6, the girl went to Christensen’s house where they engaged in sexual acts, according to the charges. When interviewed by police, “he acknowledged that he was her boss and she was 17,” the charges state.

A $150,000 warrant was issued Monday for Christensen’s arrest. Prosecutors have requested that he be required to wear a GPS monitor should he make bail, have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18, and no internet access.
