(KSL News) People hoping to pay their Salt Lake County property taxes before the Dec. 1 deadline will have to wait.

Those who went to the County Government Center in South Salt Lake to pay today were greeted by the word closed.

"I found a sign on the door that said: ‘If you need help, call somebody who cares.'" Ted Hone laughed.

The county complex is closed because of the holiday. It should reopen Monday, the last day to pay property taxes without a penalty.
