(KSL News) Police in Taylorsville are searching for a suspect in an overnight robbery.

Officers say the man went into a restaurant at 4855 S. Redwood Road late last night, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

When the employees could not get the register open, he grabbed one of their purses and took off. The employees chased him, but he got into a gray van and drove away.

The suspect is described as a male, just over 5 feet 8 inches tall with a pale complexion and thin build. He was wearing jeans and a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt.
