Kidnapping Suspect Has Number of Aliases

Det. Mike Fierro/Park City P.D.: "We're not really sure who he is. He's used a number of names, birthdates, social security numbers."

But for now, he's known as Mario Gutierrez Ruiz, the man police say violently kidnapped his former girlfriend, Amalia Morales-Pacheco.

Det. Mike Fierro/Park City P.D: "We believe at time of abduction a gun was used and possibly held to her head.

Gutierrez-Ruiz took her from the Aspenvilla Apartments. Right off the bat investigators suspected him. Gutierrez-Ruiz had already been served a stalking injunction for harassing Morales-Pacheco. The two used to be a couple, but it's been four months since they talked.

The victim was able to confirm it was Gutierrez-Ruiz by making phone calls from her cell phone to her family while on the road.

Det. Mike Fierro/Park City P.D.: "She made those calls unknown to him, using the bathroom when he wasn't aware of it. She was fearful, asking family to call police, telling them she needed help."

The two were tracked down in Arizona. Pacheco was having stomach problems so they went to a medical center in Flagstaff. That's when FBI got Guitierrez-Ruiz, if that's his real name.

Det. Mike Fierro/Park City P.D.: "I'm not sure if we'll ever know that. He's used so many names, we're not sure who he really is."

He will face federal charges for kidnapping. He will also face state charges for violating the stalking order.
