(KSL News) Uintah High School is mourning the loss of its softball coach, who was hit and killed by a truck.
Police say Claye Robb was walking Friday night when he was hit by a 24-year-old woman. The force caused the truck to veer off the road and into a power pole. The driver was not hurt.
Robb was the Uintah High School girls' softball coach, an established businessman and a member of the LDS Stake Presidency in the area.
Some of his friends today posted comments on KSL dot com. One writes, "He was a great guy, and role model in high school. He will be missed." Another said, "This was a man who gave to his community and served as a POSITIVE role model in times when such are difficult to find."
There is a memorial service planned for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Glines Stake Center in Vernal, at 475 W. 100 South.
