SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- For the 12th year, AAA Utah is helping feed the homeless for the holidays.

Spokeswoman Rolayne Fairclough says more than 3,400 pounds of turkey will be delivered by AAA's yellow tow truck to nonprofit kitchens in Salt Lake City. The turkeys will feed more than 10,000 people for Thanksgiving.

In Salt Lake City, the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Salvation Army kitchens are among the places that will receive turkeys Thursday.

AAA will deliver more than 16 tons of turkey total to 25 kitchens in Utah, Nevada and California.

Fairclough says AAA is making the deliveries a week early this year because of an expected shortage of resources for the poor this year.
