What do you get when you mix a rock legend, a rapper, a burlesque babe and Elvis Presley's daughter?
The latest MAC Viva Glam squad, made up of Blondie frontwoman Deborah Harry, Eve, Dita von Teese and Lisa Marie Presley.
The ladies start their stints today as the newest faces of MAC makeup's Viva Glam lipstick and lip gloss line, which raises money to help people who are living with HIV/AIDS and has generated $70 million to date for the MAC AIDS Fund.
The four are "outstanding ambassadors for raising awareness for the cause" because each conveys glamour and confidence, says John Demsey, chairman of the MAC AIDS Fund and group president of Estee Lauder Cos.
Von Teese has been a fan of Viva Glam since the 1994 campaign, which starred RuPaul. Since then, she wanted to be part of the cause. "I could buy lipstick and do something special for myself, and something good and important."
Harry agrees: "This has made such a difference."
Von Teese says her Viva Glam photo is an extension of her stage show. But, she says, "my arms are strategically placed so we don't see too much. I'm posing in a way my fans recognize."
Her husband, Marilyn Manson, appreciates her penchant for red, red lips. "He's really into extremes," von Teese says.
As for Harry, she says Viva Glam's warm plum shade is "a color that makes you look like you've been kissed a whole lot."
The lipstick and lip gloss retail for $14 and are available at department stores or maccosmetics.com.
