KAYSVILLE — Five people were transported to a hospital after a "high-impact incident" Sunday evening.
Crews responding to a call that a car ran into a fence at 700 E. Crestwood Road just before 6 p.m., according to a post on the Kaysville Fire Department's Facebook post.
Kaysville police officer Lexi Benson said five "trauma patients" were taken from the car.
Two of the patients were transported to the hospital by a helicopter, and three were transported by ambulance. One victim died from their injuries at the hospital, Benson said.
He was identified Monday as 27-year-old Hayden Hansen, Benson said. As of Monday afternoon, she did not have any updates on the other people injured in the crash.
Officials don’t know the cause of the crash or if speed was a factor, Benson said. Kaysville police and the Utah Highway Patrol are investigating the cause.
Kaysville Police Department, Davis County Sheriff's Office, Layton City Fire, University of Utah AirMed and Intermountain Life Flight all responded to the incident.
