LEEDS, Washington County — Two people have been arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash with an ejection in Washington County, where they left the injured party on the roadside, authorities say.
At approximately 11:51 a.m., police were called to respond to an injury accident with an ejection on southbound I-15 near Leeds, Utah Highway Patrol trooper Joe Pastor said.
The involved vehicle, a white Chevy Impala, fled the scene as officers responded, Pastor said.
The vehicle was located in Washington City following a search by Hurricane, Washington, and Washington County police. Two subjects fled on foot but were arrested shortly thereafter, Pastor said. He added that drugs were found inside the Impala.
The two were transported to the hospital, cleared of injury, and then taken to jail on investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to report an accident with injury, leaving the scene of an accident and multiple drug offenses.
The adult male ejected from the vehicle was admitted to the hospital in fair condition, but is facing investigation after drugs and a BB gun were discovered at the accident’s scene.
