Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on Foothill Drive

SALT LAKE CITY — A 60-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in the Foothill neighborhood of Salt Lake City, officials said Sunday.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Brett Olsen said the collision occurred about 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Foothill Drive and Wakara Way. The woman was taken to the University of Utah Hospital in critical condition, he said.

On Sunday morning, Olsen informed the news media that the woman had died. Her name was not released.

The collision closed northbound Foothill Drive at E. Sunnyside Avenue for several hours Saturday morning as officers investigated, authorities said.

Further details about the crash have not been released.
