AMERICAN FORK — A motorcyclist has died after a crash in American Fork, police say.

A car making a left turn at the intersection near 860 E. State Street crashed into the motorcycle Thursday morning, according to American Fork Police Lt. Josh Christensen. The motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Eastbound and westbound lanes in the area are closed because a medical helicopter landed on the road, according to KSL Newsradio’s Heather Kelly. The road is expected to reopen around 11 a.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation website.

Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
