SALT LAKE CITY — The road to Navajo Lake in Kane County was split wide open Thursday thanks to spring water running under the road, officials said.

The heavy snow and water build up in the soil caused more pressure on the road than normal which resulted in the water undercutting the road, according to Facebook post by Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The Kane County road crew was "hard at work filling and shoring up the bank" to reopen the road, officials said, and the road has since been reopened to traffic.
Crews will return in the fall to completely rebuild the damaged section of the road, located just west of Navajo Lake Campground, the Facebook post said..
