LAYTON — One woman is dead and two others are injured following a car accident in Layton Saturday night.

Officers received a call shortly before 9 p.m. that a woman, who was driving south at high speeds on 1300 North and Main Street, collided with the rear end of a Chevrolet truck, Layton City Police Sgt. Brent Ericksen told KSL. The collision caused the woman's vehicle to roll into the northbound lanes, where another vehicle hit her.

The 32-year-old woman who was driving the southbound car has died; police have not yet released her identity. The two occupants of the northbound car were injured and taken to the hospital; officials did not immediately release the extent of their injuries. The individuals in the truck were not harmed, Ericksen said. Police do not believe alcohol or other intoxicants played a role in the accident.
