SPRINGVILLE — A driver died Saturday after their vehicle hit a light pole, then hit a trailer and caught fire.

The Utah Highway Patrol reports the driver, Tayva Steele, 33, was exiting I-15 while traveling south in her pickup truck near Springville at about 1:30 a.m. After hitting the light pole along the freeway exit, the truck continued into an open area and hit the side of a semitruck trailer. At that point, it burst into flames.

Steele died at the scene. Officials said they are lookng at excessive speed and a possible medical condition as factors in the crash.

Correction: A previous version referred to the driver who was killed as a man. The driver was a woman.
