UNDER THE SEA — Free diving is an incredibly dangerous and impressive sport. Diving as deep as you can with no oxygen seems a bit crazy, but there are free divers all over the world and one of the best is Frenchman Guillaume Néry.

Néry holds numerous free diving records, but I don't really care about any of them now that this video exists.

This 13-minute short film is titled, "One Breath Around the World," and was written and directed by Néry himself. The video follows Néry as he takes one deep breath and drops under the water's surface and continues to swim all over the world.

Obviously, this wasn't all done on one breath, but what was done with one breath is still remarkable.

I'd like to say the visuals are breathtaking, but that pun seems a little too on-the-nose. But it's true: What the camera captures is truly spectacular, (the segment with the whales is hard to believe). Then there is the segment with the sharks, and the segment with the underwater ruins and the segment under the ice. It's all too much, and it's all phenomenal.

I know asking for 13 minutes of your busy time is asking a lot, but I promise it is well worth it. The film was shot in in France, Finland, Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines.

While Néry's dives are impressive, there is something even more impressive happening behind the camera: Néry's wife, Julie Gautier, filmed the piece and did it all while free diving herself.
