WEST JORDAN — A West Valley man who said he's been collecting child pornography for the past 10 years now faces numerous charges.

Casey Paul Schwartz, 33, was charged Friday in West Jordan's 3rd District Court with 15 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. Prosecutors from the Utah Attorney General's Office have also filed notice seeking forfeiture of Schwartz's property, according to court records.

Based on tips from Microsoft and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, agents from Utah's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a warrant on Schwartz's house on Wednesday, according to charging documents.

Schwartz "admitted his collection of child pornography was a 'plethora' of saved images of underaged girls," the charges state.

"Schwartz stated he feels compelled to glance at the child pornography once or twice a day," charging documents state.

Most of his pictures were of children between 6 and 13 years old, Schwartz told investigators, according to the charges.

He told investigators he had been looking at child porn for the past 10 years, according to the charges. Investigators found a total of "2,383 images and videos of child pornography on SD cards," the charges state.
