SOUTH JORDAN — Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to two unrelated garage fires minutes apart Sunday morning, one in a garage attached to a house at 11768 S. Monument Circle.
South Jordan Fire Department Deputy Chief Ryan Lessner said crews responded to the residential fire about shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday. The residents of the home evacuated safely and the fire was confined to the garage, Lessner said. The cause was under investigation Sunday.
While working that fire, firefighters spotted smoke from the second blaze at 1945 Ingot Way.
Fire officials said a man was working on lawnmower in that garage, which caught on fire and is a total loss. The man was not injured and the cause is under investigation. A firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and appears to be otherwise unharmed.
The two fires were not related.
