COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — The work of famed celebrity and fashion photographer Herb Ritts is going on display at an upstate New York museum.

"Herb Ritts: The Rock Portraits" highlights the six new exhibits opening Monday at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown.

Ritts was one of the world's most famous photographers in the 1980s and '90s, when he became known for his elegant portraits of supermodels, rock musicians and Hollywood stars.

The Fenimore exhibit, organized by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, includes Ritts photographs of such music icons as David Bowie, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Prince and Madonna.

Ritts died of complications from AIDS in 2002.

The Ritts exhibit runs through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
