SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police on Wednesday identified a Salt Lake City man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run case late Saturday night.

Michael Corby Westover, 42, died at a hospital from injuries suffered. A 33-year-old Salt Lake City man also struck by the vehicle remained in critical condition at a hospital Wednesday, police said. His name wasn't released.

South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller said the two men were in a crosswalk at 3300 South and Main Street crossing the roadway when the light turned green before they were struck by an SUV shortly before midnight Saturday.

No arrests have been made in the case and police were still looking to identify the driver of the vehicle that struck the men. Police said they were looking for a dark-colored Chevy Trailblazer in connection with the hit-and-run.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call police at 801-840-4000.

The auto-pedestrian crash was one of two different fatal incidents that happened within two blocks of 3300 South in South Salt Lake over the weekend.

About 5:30 a.m. Saturday, a man was struck and killed by two vehicles at 136 W. 3300 South, Keller said.

Officials haven't yet identified the man killed in that case. Police said they had received reports of a person walking in the road before the crash. They added the man, who was in his 30s or 40s, wasn't appropriately dressed for weather conditions at the time.

Both auto-pedestrian crashes remain under investigation.
