SALT LAKE CITY — TRAX trains resumed service in Salt Lake City Friday morning after a power surge and explosion damaged the system Tuesday, officials said.

Crews have been working on repairs since the incident and recently completed test runs before reopening all three lines Friday morning, Utah Transit Authority said in a tweet.

A bus bridge was in effect since Tuesday, but has since been canceled, according to UTA.

A catenary wire that carries power and runs above the train fell onto the rail car late Tuesday, causing the sparks and explosion.
