SALT LAKE CITY — Two people are dead following a crash on westbound I-80 near West Wendover that shut down the freeway for several hours Monday evening, according to a Nevada news station report.
The head-on collision happened around 4 p.m. near milepost 410 on westbound I-80 in West Wendover, Utah Department of Transportation officials said.
NBC affiliate KNRV reported that two people died in the accident. Detailed information about the crash was not available Monday night.
Traffic was diverted through Wendover and back onto I-80 for several hours until the crash is cleared, UDOT officials said.
