According to witnesses, the Volvo was traveling faster than other traffic.

It appears the wife was not paying attention as she approached the slower traffic. She swerved to the right and hit the embankment near 5500 South.

The vehicle rolled several times, and the husband was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wife was uninjured but taken to the hospital as a precaution because of her pregnancy.

The husband was not wearing a seatbelt, but his wife was.
