(KSL News) A Boy Scout tree-trimming project in Clearfield this afternoon turned dangerous when the scout master got pinned by a tree.
Len Baldwin of Riverton was tied about 20-feet up the tree. He was using a chainsaw to cut off the top. His scouts were helping him from below when the accident happened.
Conner Glick/ Boy Scout Troop 6861: "We were all pulling on it with the top of the rope so it would fall away from the fence and the power line. But because of the weight it fell the wrong way and it hit him and pinned him against the tree for just a second, then it fell off."
Baldwin stayed put until firefighters could reach him.
With their help, he came down the ladder. He was taken to the hosptial for evaluation.
