SALT LAKE CITY — A University of Utah student has died from injuries suffered in a paragliding crash in Red Butte Canyon on June 7.

Sawyer Gordon, 22, died on June 11, according to the Jackson Hole News & Guide. The outlet reported Gordon was a student at the University of Utah studying electrical engineering and physics.

Emergency crews responded to a report of the paraglider crash near the Living Room trail after three hikers witnessed the crash.

A search and rescue team was able to reach the paraglider, and he was transported to the University of Utah Hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries four days later.
