(KSL News) The Utah County Sheriff's Department has some federal help in the fight against child sex offenders. The Justice Department is giving the sheriff's office about $316,000 over the next two years to help it prosecute offenders and enforce sex offender registration laws.
The Utah County Sex Crimes Task Force will use the money for personnel, training, surveillance and equipment costs.
The Sheriff says the county is the perfect target for predators because there are so many children living there.
